It was a big day for Australia yesterday. First worldcup goal and the first points ever. How big is this “down under”?
It is huge, we have always followed our teams in the cricket and rugby world cups very closely. Now just with entry into the comp, let alone our 1st success the eyes of Oz are on Germany! There was dancing in the streets till very early in the morning, throughout Oz.
The Ozzies are very big on underdogs and enjoy a good fightback! So the press and fans are really behind the team as they are embodying the Ozzie fighting spirit. They are just 11 ordinary Ozzies against 11 superstars on sunday and if they go well the profile of "soccer" in Australia will continue to explode even further!

How far do you think Australia can go in the world cup, considering that they have Croatia and Brazil in their group?
Well I think we are definately in with a chance of making the next round. Apparently Japan beat Croatia in the VM lead up matches, so that's obviously encouraging. The players are all on such a high and full of confidence, which i thought they lacked through most of the last game. They will need to be amazing on Sunday, but they are not afraid of the Brazilians. I think they have the best match schedule they could hope for in a very difficult group, but if they even get anywhere near a 2nd round match with (probably Italy) they will be national hereos!

You had ”put” 2-1 to Australia, were you a bit disappointed when they made the third goal on “stoptime”?
I was overjoyed when we had the lead and secured the game, far more for the team than my guessing. but to win 3-1 is fantastic because it will most likely be very tight race for 2nd in the group (if Oz chokes and loses to Brazil). So NO, we need and will take everything we can get!!

How much football have you been watching before you came to Sweden?
Quite a lot, I've always played since i was little, and therefore interested in what dad was watching on TV. We get good coverage of the English premier league, and a pretty good round up of the rest of Europe et al.. Plus i've lived in London/ Europe for a few years and ii really love football, even more than Soccer!

Fosters or Pripps Blå ?
Pripps Blå! Even if it might not be better, it sounds more exotic to me!

Traditional ozzie bbq or ”Sill och Nubbe”?
Trad Oz BBQ, on the beach with football!

Byron Bay eller Stadshuskajen?
Byron Bay, cos (if you don't mind the shark's) it probably a lot nicer to swim and easier to surf!
